Robison startete seine Schallplattenkarriere Mitte der 1920er-Jahre als Begleitmusiker von Vernon Dalhart und konnte ab Ende der 1920er-Jahre auch mit Solo-Aufnahmen, vor allem aber als Duett-Partner von Frank Luther aufwarten.
