- Ulft (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʏl(ə)ft]) is a town in Oude IJsselstreek in the Achterhoek area in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. The town has over 10,000 inhabitants and is the biggest town in the municipality Oude IJsselstreek. Until 1 January 2005, Ulft was part of the municipality Gendringen. At the municipal re-ordering in the Achterhoek, the municipalities Gendringen and Wisch joined to form the Oude IJsselstreek. Ulft developed out of three hamlets: Ulft, Oer and De Pol. Oer is the northern part of Ulft and is called Oer because of the iron in the earth, which is called IJzeroer in Dutch. In Ulft the DRU was stationed, an iron foundry. DRU has moved some years ago to Duiven and now has a location at the Rijksweg A12. The old DRU-building now is the DRU 'Culture Factory' and holds a library, a theatre, a restaurant and an Iron museum. (en)

Tot 1 januari 2005 behoorde Ulft tot de gemeente Gendringen. Bij een gemeentelijke herindeling gingen de gemeenten Gendringen en Wisch samen verder onder de naam Oude IJsselstreek. Ulft bestaat behalve uit het gelijknamige dorp uit twee buurtschappen: Oer (Ulft noord) en De Pol. Oer is de bijnaam voor het noorden van Ulft, en wordt zo genoemd vanwege het ijzer (oer) in de grond. In Oer was ook de DRU gevestigd, een ijzergieterij. De DRU is in 2003 verhuisd naar Duiven, en heeft nu een locatie aan de A12. In het oude DRU-gebouw, tegenwoordig DRU Cultuurfabriek genoemd, zijn een radio en tv-studio, bibliotheek, kunstgalerij, restaurant, popzaal, muziekschool, diverse verenigingen, conferentiezalen en theater gehuisvest. Het koninklijk paar bracht hier op dinsdag 6 mei 2014 een bezoek. (nl)

Até 1 de janeiro de 2005, Ulft fazia parte do município Gendringen. Na reordenação municipal no Achterhoek, os municípios Gendringen e Wisch se juntaram para formar o Oude IJsselstreek. Ulft desenvolveu-se a partir de três aldeias: Ulft, Oer e De Pol. Oer é a parte norte de Ulft e é chamado de Oer por causa do ferro na terra, que é chamado de IJzeroer em holandês. Em Ulft estava estacionada a DRU, uma fundição de ferro. A DRU mudou-se há alguns anos para Duiven e agora tem uma localização na Rijksweg A12. O antigo edifício da DRU é agora a DRU 'Culture Factory' e possui uma biblioteca, um teatro, um restaurante e um museu do ferro. (pt)
