- Teho Teardo (* 19. September 1966 in Pordenone als Mauro Teho Teardo) ist ein italienischer Musiker und Komponist. Mit 8 Jahren begann er Klarinette zu spielen, wandte sich später aber der Gitarre zu. Er war 1990 Mitbegründer der Rockband Meathead, die sich 1997 auflöste. Teardo arbeitete unter anderem mit dem britischen Produzenten und Musiker Mick Harris, der US-amerikanischen Sängerin Lydia Lunch, Blixa Bargeld, Alexander Bălănescu sowie Graham Lewis von der Band Wire zusammen. 2003 veröffentlichte er mit Scott McCloud, dem Sänger und Gitarristen der Band Girls Against Boys, unter dem Namen Operator ein Album. Danach tourte Teardo mit der britischen Rockband Placebo. 2006 brachte er mit dem Jazz-Cellisten Erik Friedlander das Album Giorni Rubati heraus. Teardo komponierte Musik für mehrere italienische Filme. Unter den Regisseuren waren Paolo Sorrentino, Gabriele Salvatores und Guido Chiesa. Für seine Komposition zum Film Il Divo erhielt er 2009 den bedeutenden Filmpreis David di Donatello. (de)
- Teho Teardo is an Italian musician and composer. He is a founding member of the rock band Meathead. In the 1990s he collaborated with Mick Harris, Jim Coleman and Lydia Lunch. With Scott McCloud (Girls Against Boys) he started a new project called Operator. Together they released an album titled Welcome to the Wonderful World in 2003, and toured with Placebo. In 2006 he made an album inspired by Pier Paolo Pasolini's poetry with Erik Friedlander. In 2013 he started a fruitful collaboration with Blixa Bargeld and they have released four albums to date. Teardo has composed musical scores for many Italian films like Gabriele Salvatores' Denti or Paolo Sorrentino's The Family Friend and Il Divo. For Denti he was awarded the Quality prize from the Italian Minister of Culture. For his soundtrack Il Divo Teardo won the David di Donatello Award in 2009. He lives and works in Rome. (en)
