- Das SS-Leitheft war eine illustrierte nationalsozialistische Zeitschrift. Sie erschien unregelmäßig als zentrales Publikationsorgan der SS von 1935 bis Oktober 1944. Herausgegeben wurde sie vom Reichsführer SS, SS-Hauptamt in Berlin, verlegt unter anderem im Schulungsamt des Rasse- und Siedlungshauptamtes. Zu den Themen gehörten die Grundlagen der nationalsozialistischen Weltanschauung, Rassenkunde, Erbgesundheitslehre, Deutsche Geschichte, Germanentum, „Gegnerkunde“ sowie Krieg und Soldatentum. Verantwortlich für die Zeitschrift war zeitweise Joachim Caesar. Autoren waren unter anderem Günther Franz, Werner Jansen, Siegfried Kadner, Johann von Leers und Wilhelm Bornstedt. Ein Illustrator war Wilhelm Petersen. (de)
- SS-Leitheft ("SS-lead-booklet") was a Nazi periodical from 1934 to 1945. This "SS-leadership magazine", as it is often called, was published in German in Berlin from 1934 onward, and in the beginning mostly circulated among professional officers in the SS. The publisher was the SS-Hauptamt, the main office of the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, and the printing was done by M. Müller and Sohn in Berlin. When war came, with need for new recruits, the SS-Leitheft was also published at the Germanische Leitstelle in Oslo, Norway; Copenhagen, Denmark; Brussels, Belgium; and Den Haag, the Netherlands; that is to say, in Norwegian, Danish, Flemish and Dutch. There was an Estonian edition. The normative texts were usually translated from German, but with more room for national diversity as war went on. Very little is known of the staff work in general, but the writer Eystein Eggen has given a detailed description regarding the Leitheft's Norse version, his father being the Norwegian editor-in-chief. - "SS-Leitheft" o Libretti Guida delle SS erano delle pubblicazioni mensili del periodo nazista pubblicati in Germania tra il 1934 e il 1945. Circolavano soprattutto tra gli ufficiali delle SS, sia appartenenti alle Allgemeine-SS che alle Waffen-SS. Erano predisposti dall'Ufficio Personale delle SS o SS-Hauptamt del Reichsführer delle SS Heinrich Himmler a Berlino ed erano stampati dalla casa editrice M. Müller & Sohn sempre di Berlino. Ogni numero della pubblicazione SS-Leitheft conteneva articoli di carattere storico ed ideologico, tutte contenenti fotografie illustrative, spesso di grande interesse e qualità. Gli articoli erano spesso firmati dai più noti personaggi delle SS. Servirà poi, dopo lo scoppio della seconda guerra mondiale, come mezzo di propaganda e reclutamento, e quindi di supporto al a Oslo in Norvegia; a Copenaghen in Danimarca; a Bruxelles in Belgio; a L'Aia nei Paesi Bassi; con il fine di contribuire a far arruolare volontari norvegesi, danesi, valloni, fiamminghi e olandesi tra le file delle Waffen-SS. Inoltre verrà creato anche un'edizione estone di tale pubblicazione. Spesso e volentieri questi altri numeri di tale pubblicazione riprendevano gli articoli già pubblicati nell'edizione in lingua tedesca. Il leader spirituale del periodico era il dr. , uno svizzero delle SS che diventò il capo dell'Ufficio reclutamento volontari, una divisione delle SS-Hauptamt. (it)
