- Polyalkylenglycolether, auch Fettalkoholpolyglycolether, Fettalkoholethoxylate (FAEO), (Handelsnamen u. A. Brij®, Genapol®, Lutensol®), sind eine Reihe von nichtionischen Tensiden. Der lipophile Teil dieser Tenside besteht aus Fettalkoholen, der hydrophile Teil bildet kurzkettige Polyethylenglycole (Polyoxyethylene). Als Fettalkohole werden die sich von Laurin-, Palmitin-, Stearin- oder Ölsäure abgeleiteten Alkohole verwendet. (de)
- Los alcoholes grasos etoxilados o éteres de poliglicol de alcoholes grasos o polialquilenglicoléteres, con una estrecha distribución de homólogos, también conocidos como etoxilados de rango estrecho, son tensioactivos no iónicos conocidos, que se producen industrialmente, por ejemplo, por adición de óxido de etileno sobre alcoholes grasos en presencia de catalizadores adecuados (compuestos laminares que hayan sido calcinadoso hidrofobizados con ácidos grasos). Este procedimiento también puede llevarse a cabo por una variedad de distintas sustancias hidrofóbicas y utilizando diferentes compuestos alcoxilantes (por ejemplo, óxido de propileno y óxido de butileno) modificando las propiedades del catalizador. La parte lipofílica de estos tensioactivos consiste en alcoholes grasos, mientras que la parte hidrófila la forman los polietilenglicoles de cadena corta (polioxietilenos). Los alcoholes grasos suelen derivar de los ácidos láurico (C12), palmítico (C16), esteárico (C-18) u oleico (C18-Δ9); aunque muchas veces, los alcoholes grasos etoxilados son mezclas de varios, de tal manera que se suele indicar el rango de alcoholes que se han etoxilado (por ejemplo, C11-C13, C12-C14, etc). - Narrow-range ethoxylates (NREs) in chemistry are fatty alcohol polyglycol ethers with a narrow homolog distribution and are known nonionic surfactants. They can be produced industrially, for example, by the addition of ethylene oxide onto fatty alcohols in the presence of suitable catalysts (layer compounds which have been calcined or hydrophobized with fatty acids). This process can also be carried out on a variety of other hydrophobes and using different alkoxylating compounds (e.g., propylene oxide and butylene oxide) by modifying the catalyst properties. (en)
- Le Brij-35 ou polyoxyéthylèneglycol dodécyl éther est un détergent non ionique, communément utilisé dans les applications HPLC. Il est également utilisé dans les préparations de tampons pour essais enzymatiques (compatible avec l'essai protéique BSA et absorbe les UV à 280 nm), il limite les liaisons non spécifiques dans les gels-filtrations et chromatographies d'affinité. Sa texture très huileuse rend sa manipulation difficile ainsi que sa mise en solution, ce détergent est difficile à éliminer par dialyse, toutefois l'utilisation de l'Extracti-Gel D est pratique pour séparer le détergeant du gel.

- Alkylpolyglycolethers zijn een groep van niet-ionische oppervlakte-actieve stoffen met als algemene brutoformule R-(O-CH2-CH2)x-OH. Daarin is R het lipofiele deel van deze tensiden. R is een relatief lange alkylgroep, bijvoorbeeld n-hexadecyl (16 koolstofatomen) of n-octadecyl (18 koolstofatomen) en is afkomstig van vetalcoholen afgeleid van bijvoorbeeld laurinezuur, stearinezuur of palmitinezuur. De ethers afgeleid van stearinezuur duidt men aan met steareth-, die van laurinezuur met laureth-. Het hydrofiele gedeelte wordt gevormd door een polyethyleenglycolketen. De polymerisatiegraad x kan gaan van 2 tot 20 of meer. (nl)
