- Το Όρος Κύμινας ήταν ένα από τα πολλά μοναστικά όρη (ορισμένες φορές αναφερόμενα από ορισμένους και ως «όσια όρη» ή «ιερά όρη») της Βυζαντινής Αυτοκρατορίας, εκ των οποίων το είναι το πλέον γνωστό. Ευρισκόμενο στη Βιθυνία, πιθανώς στα περίχωρα της Προύσας, ο μοναχισμός γνώρισε άνθηση στην συγκεκριμένη τοποθεσία κατά τη διάρκεια του 9ου και 10ου αιώνα, κυρίως υπό τον ώθηση του Αγίου , ωστόσο φαίνεται να παράκμασε εντός συντόμου χρονικού διαστήματος στη συνέχεια. - Le mont Kyminas fut l'une des nombreuses montagnes monastiques (parfois désignées par certains byzantinistes comme saintes montagnes), dont le Mont Athos est l'exemple le plus connu. Situé quelque part en Bithynie, probablement aux alentours de Pruse, la vie monastique y prit son essor aux IXe et Xe siècles, notamment sous l'impulsion de saint Michel Maleïnos, mais semble avoir décliné rapidement par la suite.
