- Memory and Humanity es el cuarto álbum de la banda galesa Funeral for a Friend, que fue lanzado el 13 de octubre de 2008 por Join Us (el sello propio de la banda) en el Reino Unido, Victory en Estados Unidos y Canadá, y Roadrunner en el resto del mundo. Es el último trabajo en el que figura el bajista Gareth Davies, tras su abandono el 4 de septiembre tras seis años en la banda y haber colaborado en todos los materiales de FFAF.Comenzaron a preparar el disco a finales del 2007, en ese momento solo tenían siete canciones, ya que su idea era grabar sol un EP pero terminaron haciendo un disco. La portada de este disco la realizó el mismo artista que diseño la portada de Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation, cuando terminaron de grabar la mayor parte de las canciones, el artista dio una propuesta y así representó a un niño observando a la humanidad, plasmada en un símbolo. El primer sencillo del álbum, "Waterfront Dance Club", fue lanzado el 14 de julio de 2008 en formato 7" como una doble cara-A junto con "Beneath the Burning Tree" y puesto en descarga gratuita, también, ese mismo día. El 9 de agosto apareció el primer videoclip del álbum para "Kicking and Screaming" en el MySpace de la banda. (es)

- Memory and Humanity is the fourth studio album by Welsh post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend, released on 13 October 2008. The album was released through the band's own record label Join Us Records in the UK, Victory Records in the US and Canada, and Roadrunner Records in the rest of the world. On 26 January 2008, drummer Ryan Richards made an announcement on the band's forum, stating that FFAF were to spend the first few months of the year recording, with a view to releasing a four or five track EP in March or April 2008. After writing more material than originally planned, the band decided to release a full-length album instead, expected out in September. Ryan also announced that the new album would contain harsh/screaming vocals, riffs and would be closer to Casually Dressed and Deep in Conversation than any of their other albums, although it would still be significantly different and more technical, saying that they want to move forward, and never back to any old style. The first single from the album, "Waterfront Dance Club", was released on 14 July 2008, in the 7" format as a double A-side along with the track "Beneath the Burning Tree", whilst the song "Waterfront Dance Club" was released as a free download on the same day. On 9 August 2008, the video for the second single from the album, "Kicking and Screaming", appeared on the band's MySpace page. The album was released on 13 October 2008 and reached #17 in the UK album charts selling 10,000 copies. (en)

In de Verenigde Staten en Canada gaf Victory Records het album uit en Roadrunner Records bracht het in de rest van de wereld uit. De albumhoes werd ontworpen door Barny Bewick. Hij verzorgde in 2002 ook het ontwerp van de hoes van het Muse-album Hullabaloo. Op 26 januari 2008 maakte drummer op hun internetforum bekend dat Funeral for a Friend de eerste maanden van dat jaar bezig was met het opnemen van een extended play, die in maart of april 2008 uitgebracht zou worden. Er werd echter meer materiaal geschreven dan gepland en de band besloot in plaats daarvan een volledig album uit te brengen, waarvan de uitgave gepland stond voor september 2008. Richards maakte tevens bekend dat het album meer screaming vocals en riffs zou bevatten. De eerste single van het album, "Waterfront Dance Club", werd uitgebracht op 14 juli 2008, samen met "Beneath the Burning Tree".
