- La Fundació Johan Cruyff és una institució benèfica creada a Barcelona el 1995 per Johan Cruyff per donar suport a projectes esportius dirigits a nens amb discapacitat, amb la idea del paper essencial que l'esport té en el seu desenvolupament i millora de la qualitat de vida. També dona suport a joves de tot el món que viuen en zones de més risc d'exclusió social i compten amb menys recursos. La Fundació dona suport econòmic i orientació, i fa d'intermediària amb altres institucions socials. Organitza diferents esdeveniments per a recaptar fons. Entre els projectes que desenvolupa destaquen els Cruyff Courts, petits camps de futbol públics amb gespa artificial de 42 x 28 metres, situats en barris desafavorits dels Països Baixos i de Catalunya, l'escola de bàsquet amb cadira de rodes i l'escola d'hoquei amb cadira electrònica per a nens amb discapacitat física. - The Johan Cruyff Foundation was started in 1997 by Dutch soccer player and coach Johan Cruijff (1947-2016) to provide opportunities for children, especially children with disabilities, to be active in sports and play. To that end it builds "Cruyff Courts", small soccer fields with artificial grass, integrated into neighborhoods. By 2016 it had built over 200 such courts, 33 of which specially designed for handicapped children in appropriate locations. Cruyff Courts are typically built as a partnership between the foundation and the city government, and if a court is near a school, it has to host a school soccer tournament at least once a year. Cruyff started the foundation in 1997, the year he turned 50, commenting later that it was better to organize charity by himself than lending his name to other efforts over which he had no control. Advice came from Terre des hommes. Its main office is in Amsterdam, overlooking the Olympic Stadium. (en)
- De Johan Cruyff Foundation is een stichting opgericht in 1997 door voormalig voetbalspeler en coach Johan Cruijff (1947-2016). Het doel van de foundation is een mogelijkheid te bieden aan kinderen, ook kinderen met een beperking, om te sporten. Om haar doel te bereiken bouwt de Foundation Cruyff Courts, kleine voetbalvelden met kunstgras in woonwijken. Tot 2016 heeft de organisatie meer dan 200 van deze velden aangelegd, waarvan er 33 speciaal ontworpen zijn voor kinderen met een beperking. Cruyff Courts worden opgezet in een samenwerking tussen de Foundation en de stad. Als de court in de buurt van een school ligt dient er ten minste één keer per jaar een schooltoernooi gehouden te worden. Cruijff richtte de foundation op in 1997, toen hij 50 jaar werd, omdat hij het beter achtte liefdadigheidsprojecten zelf op te zetten in plaats van zijn naam aan projecten te lenen waar hij geen controle over had. Terre des Hommes werd aangezocht als adviseur. Het hoofdkantoor van de foundation is gevestigd in Amsterdam. In november 2019 beweerde journalist Auke Kok in een uitzending van het tv-programma De Wereld Draait Door bij gelegenheid van het verschijnen van Johan Cruijff, de biografie dat Cruyff tijdens zijn leven op jaarbasis een bedrag van 1 miljoen euro zou hebben ontvangen van de organisatie. Dit werd door een woordvoerder met klem tegengesproken. Toen het boek verscheen ontstond er commotie over met name zeven alinea’s uit de totaal 639 pagina’s tellende biografie. Op 15 november werd door de rechter in een kort geding een plicht tot rectificatie opgelegd omdat de auteur voor die bewering geen bewijs leverde. Bij de eerste druk moet een inlegvel komen. In een eventuele volgende druk moet deze passage uit het boek verwijderd worden. (nl)
