- Η Γκοϊντβάλ (Παντζάμπι: ਗੋਇੰਦਵਾਲ), επίσης γνωστή και ως Γκοϊντβάλ Σαχίμπ, είναι πόλη η οποία βρίσκεται στην περιφέρεια Ταρν Ταράν της περιοχής Μάτζα, στην πολιτεία του Παντζάμπ της Ινδίας, και βρίσκεται σε απόσταση περίπου 23 χιλιομέτρων από την πόλη . Βρίσκεται στις όχθες του ποταμού Ύφαση και αποτελεί ένα από τα σημεία εστίασης μικρής κλίμακας βιομηχανιών της περιφέρειας Ταρν Ταράν. Τον 16 αιώνα, κατά τη διάρκεια της ηγεσίας του Σιχ-Γκουρού, Γκουρού Αμάρ Ντας, έγινε σημαντικό κέντρο της θρησκείας του Σιχισμού. Ο Γκουρού Αμάρ Ντας (ο τρίτος Σιχ-Γκουρού) έζησε στην Γκοϊντβάλ για 33 χρόνια όπου εγκαθίδρυσε ένα νέο κέντρο για να μπορεί να κηρύσσει για τον Σιχισμό. Εκεί κατασκευάστηκε κι ένα μπαόλι με 84 σκαλοπάτια. Μερικοί Ινδουιστές πιστεύουν πως απαγγέλοντας την προσευχή , ο θεϊκός Λόγος αποκαλύφθηκε στον Γκουρού Νάνακ σε κάθε ένα από τα 84 σκαλοπάτια και πως μετά το μπάνιο στο μπαόλι παρέχεται , απελευθέρωση από τους 84,00,000 κύκλους της ζωής αυτού του κόσμου και ένωση με τον Θεό (μούχτι). Αυτό δεν είναι κάτι που γίνεται αποδεκτό από τους Σιχ, οι οποίοι αντιμετωπίζουν το μπαόλι απλά ως μια πηγή νερού. Η Γκοϊντβάλ είναι επίσης το μέρος όπου ο Γκουρού Αμάρ Ντας συνάντησε τον Γκουρού Ραμ Ντας, τον διάδοχό του κι επόμενο Σιχ-Γκουρού, καθώς και η πόλη όπου γεννήθηκε στις 15 Απριλίου 1563 ο Γκουρού Αρντζάν. - Goindwal (Punjabi: ਗੋਇੰਦਵਾਲ, meaning ‘City of Govind’, an epithet of God), also known as Goindwal Sahib and alternatively transliterated as Goindval, is located in Taran Taran district in the Majha region of the state of Punjab in India about 23 km from Tarn Taran Sahib. In the 16th century it became an important center for the Sikh religion during the Guruship of the Guru Amar Das Ji. Goindwal is on the banks of the river Beas and is one of the focal points of small scale industries of Tarn Taran district. Guru Amar Das (the third Guru or the third Nanak) stayed in Goindwal for 33 years where he established a new centre for preaching Sikhism. A Baoli (stepwell), paved with 84 steps was constructed there. Sikh’s believe that by reciting Japji Sahib, the divine Word revealed to Guru Nanak, at each of the 84 steps after taking a bath in the Baoli provides Moksha, liberation from 84,00,000 cycles of life of this world and unity with God (mukhti). Goindval is where Guru Amar Das Ji met Guru Ram Das Ji, the next Guru. Guru Arjan Dev was also born there on 15 April 1563. It is called axis of Sikhism as it was the first center of Sikhism. Today the Gurdwara and Goindwal Baoli is visited as a prime tourist destination and the massive langar or the community kitchen provides food to a large number of visitors every day. (en)
- Goindval, ou Goindwal, (punjabi: ਗੋਇੰਦਵਾਲ ), est un haut lieu de pèlerinage du sikhisme. Cette ville se situe dans le Penjab sur le district de Taran Taran (31° 22N, 75° 9E). Goindval était au Moyen Âge un lieu de passage des caravanes des commerçants en Asie, sur les rives de la rivière Beas. Son nom viendrait même d'un marchand qui s'y est implanté. Ses habitants au XVIe siècle soupçonnaient des esprits diaboliques de hanter les lieux. Ils ont alors fait appel à un des Gurus du sikhisme, Guru Amar Das, avant son intronisation il faut le spécifier. Le Guru s'est alors plu dans ce lieu et il y est resté plusieurs dizaines d'années construisant notamment un puits à ablution célèbre dans le sikhisme, un baoli. Le festival de Baisakhi était aussi très fêté dans cette ville à l'époque. Ces événements se passaient avant la construction d'Amritsar et du Temple d'Or qui a supplanté Goindval dans le cœur des pèlerins. (fr)
