- The Fort de Chillon is a twentieth-century fortification directly adjacent to the medieval Château de Chillon on the edge of Lac Léman in Switzerland. The fort secures the road and rail lines that pass along the lakeshore running east from Lausanne to the mountainous interior of Switzerland. The position is an advanced work protecting the approaches to Fortress Saint-Maurice, part of the Swiss National Redoubt. Deactivated as a military post in 1995, it is privately owned and is being converted to a wine cellar. (en)
- Le fort de Chillon est un ouvrage militaire situé sur la Riviera vaudoise en face du château de Chillon en Suisse. Construit entre 1941 et 1942 comme fort d'artillerie et d'infanterie, il perdit sa mission d'artillerie en 1978 et ne servit plus qu'à interdire l’étroit passage entre le Léman et le versant abrupt des Préalpes vaudoises afin de protéger l'accès au Chablais depuis le plateau (et inversement). Implantée sur un « passage obligé », la position de barrage de Chillon « constitue probablement en Suisse un des exemples les plus frappants de la continuité historique en matière de renforcement de terrain ». Outre le fort, une douzaine d'ouvrages d’infanterie, une dizaine de barricades routières et obstacles antichars ainsi que plusieurs (de) constituent cette position de barrage. Un musée dans le fort est ouvert depuis décembre 2020. (fr)
