- Der Militärflugplatz Decimomannu befindet sich im Süden der italienischen Mittelmeerinsel Sardinien. Im Kalten Krieg wurde der Flugplatz von den Luftstreitkräften verschiedener NATO-Mitgliedsstaaten zu Übungszwecken genutzt, danach betrieben ihn die Luftwaffen Italiens und Deutschlands. Mit der am 14. Dezember 2016 erfolgten Auflösung des Taktischen Ausbildungskommandos der Luftwaffe Italien endete die deutsche Mitnutzung des Flugplatzes vorübergehend. Seit 2022 werden in Decimomannu angehende Kampfpiloten an der International Flight Training School auf Jettrainern ausgebildet. (de)
- Decimomannu Air Base (IATA: DCI, ICAO: LIED) is an Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) air base located approximately 5 km (2.7 NM) north of Decimomannu a comune in the Province of Cagliari on the island of Sardinia in Italy. It is a military airport located northwest of the city of Cagliari, Sardinia, in a vast area between the towns of Decimomannu, Decimoputzu, San Sperate and Villasor. The airport is named after Colonel pilot Giovanni Farina, Gold Medal for bravery, died in combat in the skies of Sardinia 14 June 1942. The airfield is a front-line NATO training facility primarily used since 1979 for Dissimilar Air Combat Training (DACT) of various NATO air force fighter aircraft. Decimonannu was also the Home Base for the and the base was used for training flights. (en)

L'aeroporto è gestito dall'Aeronautica Militare ed in base al Decreto ministeriale del 25 gennaio 2008 pubblicato sulla Gazzetta Ufficiale del 7 marzo 2008 l'aeroporto è classificato come MOB (Main Operating Base) del primo gruppo e come tale effettua esclusivamente attività militari, non essendo aperto al traffico commerciale. È intitolato al colonnello pilota Giovanni Farina, medaglia d'oro al valor militare, deceduto in combattimento nei cieli della Sardegna il 14 giugno 1942. (it)
