The Wombridge Canal was a tub-boat canal in Shropshire, England, built to carry coal and iron ore from mines in the area to the furnaces where the iron was extracted. It opened in 1788, and parts of it were taken over by the Shrewsbury Canal Company in 1792, who built an inclined plane at Trench. It lowered tub boats 75 feet (23 m), and remained in operation until 1921, becoming the last operational canal inclined plane in the country. The canal had been little used since 1919, and closed with the closure of the plane.

Gebaut 1793 war er die Verbindung vom -Kanal zum Shrewsbury-Kanal, war 227 Yards (208 m) lang und überwand einen Höhenunterschied von 75 Fuß (23 m). Im Jahre 1919 wurden neue Hochöfen in Wombridge gebaut und der Rest des Kanals verfiel von da an, da kein Transport mehr notwendig war. Der Kanal wurde am 31. August 1921 aufgegeben, als auch der Schrägaufzug als nunmehr letzter im Land, geschlossen wurde. Im Jahr 1968 wurden die noch verbliebenen Materialien der Anlage genutzt, um die Becken zu verfüllen, was damit alles zerstörte, was noch übrig war.
