- A notice to mariners (NTM or NOTMAR,) advises mariners of important matters affecting navigational safety, including new hydrographic information, changes in channels and aids to navigation, and other important data. Over 60 countries which produce nautical charts also produce a notice to mariners. About one third of these are weekly, another third are bi-monthly or monthly, and the rest irregularly issued according to need. For example, the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office issues weekly updates. (en)

- Avisos a los navegantes (Notices to mariners): son boletines periódicos que publica la autoridad marítima para actualizar cartas náuticas, derroteros, lista de faros, lista de radioayudas a la navegación y otras publicaciones náuticas. En España, el organismo responsable de la publicación es el Instituto Hidrográfico de la Marina, dependiente del Ministerio de Defensa. La actualización es semanal. Otros servicios similares: Servicio Hidrográfico del Reino Unido y Agencia Nacional de Inteligencia-Geoespacial (NGA). Existen dos tipos de avisos:

Notice to Mariners) – periodyczne wydawnictwo dla nawigatorów/żeglarzy, opisujące wszelkie zmiany dotyczące bezpieczeństwa nawigacji, np. zmiany w oznakowaniu nawigacyjnym (wystawione nowe, przesunięte lub usunięte znaki i światła nawigacyjne, zmienione charakterystyki świateł, czasowo wyłączone światła nawigacyjne itp.), informacje o nowych wrakach czy pomiarach głębokości, nowe systemy rozgraniczenia ruchu i zmiany istniejących, nowe przepisy lokalne i zmiany istniejących, informacje o nowych edycjach map morskich i publikacji nautycznych i wiele innych. Umożliwiają one aktualizację (korektę) map oraz publikacji używanych w żegludze, co jest wymagane przez V Rozdział konwencji SOLAS. (pl)

| - Η οδηγία ναυσιπλοΐας ή αγγελία ναυσιπλοΐας ή αγγελία προς ναυτιλλόμενους και παλαιότερα "αγγελίαι τοις ναυτιλλομένοις", (sailing direction ή notice to mariners), αφορά ειδική οδηγία ασφάλειας στη ναυσιπλοΐα που παρέχεται προς τον Πλοίαρχο του πλοίου, είτε από επίσημες υπηρεσίες ενός κράτους, συνήθως , είτε από τον ενοικιαστή ( ή ναυλωτή), είτε σε έκτακτες περιπτώσεις από τις ίδιες τις Αρχές του λιμένα προσέγγισης. Οι οδηγίες αυτές αφορούν κυρίως πληροφορίες υφιστάμενης κατάστασης κυκλοφορίας σε διαύλους, αγκυροβόλια, , έκτακτους ναυτιλιακούς κινδύνους (π.χ. παγόβουνα, επιπλέοντα εμπόδια κ.λπ.), έκτακτες έρευνες διάσωσης ή επιστημονικές, επικίνδυνα ναυάγια, ενεργοποίηση ή απενεργοποίηση φάρων και φανών λιμένων, ναυτικών πεδίων ασκήσεων ή βολών, φάσεις παλιρροιών, και οτιδήποτε άλλο κρίνεται απαραίτητο προς ενημέρωση. Ιδιαίτερης μνείας αγγελία γίνεται από τον Διεθνή Οργανισμό Ναυσιπλοΐας (ΙΜΟ) του ΟΗΕ σε περιπτώσεις ναυτικών αποκλεισμών ή χαρακτηρισμού θαλάσσιας περιοχής σε εμπόλεμη. Η σηματική συνήθως λήψη των παραπάνω οδηγιών είναι υποχρεωτική και θα πρέπει να γίνεται σχετική μνεία στο του πλοίου. Συνηθίζεται όμως είτε να επικολλάται αυτούσιο στις σελίδες του ημερολογίου είτε να αναρτάται σε εμφανές σημείο (πίνακα) στη Γέφυρα του πλοίου για την άμεση ενημέρωση των Αξιωματικών Γέφυρας. (el)

Cuando la magnitud de las novedades requiere mayor celeridad se emiten alertas radiofónicas para notificar a los marinos de peligros adicionales a los mostrados en la publicaciones. Existen dos tipos de avisos:
* Los permanentes, que dan cuenta de cambios definitivos, por ejemplo cambio de caracteríscas de faros o balizas, profundidades, variación del contorno de la costa por acción del hombre, etc.
* Los preliminares y temporales, que se refieren a cambios transitorios, como averías en la señalización, ejercicios militares, operaciones de dragado...en general, alertas o restricciones a la navegación con carácter temporal y que tienen fecha de caducidad. Por seguridad de la navegación es obligación del patrón o capitán de la embarcación mantener las publicaciones náuticas al día corregidas según el último aviso a los navegantes con que se cuente a bordo. Actualmente muchas cartas y publicaciones se producen en formato digital, y sus respectivas actualizaciones se obtienen en el mismo formato, agilizando la tarea y disminuyendo los errores.

Notice to Mariners) – periodyczne wydawnictwo dla nawigatorów/żeglarzy, opisujące wszelkie zmiany dotyczące bezpieczeństwa nawigacji, np. zmiany w oznakowaniu nawigacyjnym (wystawione nowe, przesunięte lub usunięte znaki i światła nawigacyjne, zmienione charakterystyki świateł, czasowo wyłączone światła nawigacyjne itp.), informacje o nowych wrakach czy pomiarach głębokości, nowe systemy rozgraniczenia ruchu i zmiany istniejących, nowe przepisy lokalne i zmiany istniejących, informacje o nowych edycjach map morskich i publikacji nautycznych i wiele innych. Umożliwiają one aktualizację (korektę) map oraz publikacji używanych w żegludze, co jest wymagane przez V Rozdział konwencji SOLAS. Wydawane są przez ponad 60 krajów w różnych odstępach czasowych, najczęściej co tydzień, co dwa tygodnie, raz w miesiącu lub zależnie od potrzeb. Dostępne w wersji drukowanej lub bezpłatnie w wersji elektronicznej na stronach instytucji wydających publikacje nautyczne. Najbardziej znane, ze względu na zasięg światowy, są brytyjskie "Notices to Mariners" wydawane co tydzień od 1834 przez (Biuro Hydrograficzne Zjednoczonego Królestwa nazywane zwyczajowo Biurem Hydrograficznym Brytyjskiej Admiralicji). Obejmują wszystkie wydawnictwa Admiralicji (obszar wszystkich wód żeglownych w żegludze międzynarodowej). Instytucje publikujące własne mapy morskie i publikacje nautyczne wydają podobne wydawnictwa np. "U.S. Notice to Mariners" - dotyczące map i publikacji U.S. Coast Guard, "Nachrichten für Seefahrer" - przez (niemieckie mapy morskie i publikacje nautyczne). (pl)
