Mahmoud Aslan (Arabic: محمد أصلان), (1902 – after 1971) was an active participant in literary life during the French protectorate of Tunisia. He produced numerous novels, short stories, and plays. He was also the founder of the journal "Tunis littéraire et artistique" and the weekly newspaper "Le Petit Tunisien" which was devoted to Franco-Muslims.

Il naît dans une famille de commerçants d'origine turque par son père et égyptienne par sa mère. Grandissant à Souk El Arba où il fréquente l'école franco-arabe, il part pour Tunis en 1917 afin d'y étudier au Lycée Carnot. Il effectue ensuite plusieurs séjours à Paris, y travaillant comme employé de commerce et épousant finalement une Parisienne. Ethnographe, cet auteur est finalement naturalisé français. (fr)
