Little Joe II was an American rocket used from 1963 to 1966 for five uncrewed tests of the Apollo spacecraft launch escape system (LES), and to verify the performance of the command module parachute recovery system in abort mode. It was named after a similar rocket designed for the same function in Project Mercury. Launched from White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, it was the smallest of four launch rockets used in the Apollo program.

Ele fez lançamentos no início da 1960. Hoje em dia o foguete está em exposição na NASA. O Little Joe II foi também uma das as primeiras conquistas do espaço dos Estados Unidos e também o primeiro passo para que os norte-americanos lançassem um foguete à Lua, em 1969. Com os estudos feitos no Little Joe II foi possível o desenvolvimento de foguetes mais potentes e mais resistentes. (pt) Little Joe II fue la denominación de un modelo de cohete de combustible sólido de dos etapas desarrollado a principios de los años 1960 para hacer diversas pruebas con las cápsulas del programa Apolo y verificar el sistema de lanzamiento de escape de emergencia. El Little Joe II, al igual que el Little Joe, se construyó a base de agrupar cohetes de un mismo tipo para crear un lanzador capaz de elevar las cápsulas Apolo y hacer prueba con su sistema de escape. Se crearon diferentes tipos de Little Joe II, diferenciándose en los cohetes utilizados para crearlos. (es) Il Little Joe II era un razzo statunitense usato dal 1963 al 1966 per eseguire lanci di prova per la messa a punto di alcuni sistemi della navicella spaziale Apollo, cioè il sistema di sicurezza LES Launch Escape System e il sistema di atterraggio del modulo di comando.Il Little Joe II era un razzo a due stadi, alimentato da propellente solido; era lungo 26,20 metri e aveva un diametro di 3,96 metri, tale da potere contenere il modulo di servizio della navicella Apollo. Il razzo aveva da sei a nove motori (a seconda della versione) e poteva raggiungere un'altezza massima di 35 km portando un carico utile di 14 tonnellate. La sua costruzione fu cominciata nell'agosto 1962 e terminata nel luglio 1963. (it)
