Profound Lake or Lake Profound (62°11′S 58°55′W / 62.183°S 58.917°W) is a lake 400 metres (1⁄4 mi) northwest of Jasper Point in northeast Fildes Peninsula, King George Island. The feature was named "Ozero Glubokoye" (deep lake) by the Soviet Antarctic Expedition working from Bellingshausen Station from 1968, but both forms of the name are already in use in the Antarctic. The United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) amended the name in 1979 to avoid duplication.

Auf einer englischsprachigen Karte derselben Autoren ist die Bucht mit „Lake Glubokoye“ beschriftet. Das UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee übersetzte den russischen Namen 1979 sinngemäß ins Englische, um eine Dopplung zum Lake Glubokoye (russisch ebenfalls озеро Глубокое) bei der Molodjoschnaja-Station im Enderbyland zu vermeiden. Der „Tiefe See“ hat keinen oberirdischen Abfluss, speist aber eine Quelle, die in einem vom See nach Südosten ziehenden Tal liegt. Das Quellwasser ist erheblich kälter als das Wasser des Sees, da dieses offensichtlich über die Permafrosttafel zur Quelle abfließt.
