- Josef Steinbach va ser un haltera austríac que va competir a començaments del segle xx. Nascut a Bohèmia, el 1894 es traslladà a Viena, on començà a practicar l'halterofília el 1898. Guanyà tres medalles al campionat del món el 1904 i 1905. El 1906 va prendre part en els Jocs Intercalats d'Atenes, on disputà dues proves del programa d'halterofília i la d'estirar la corda. Va guanyar la medalla d'or en aixecament a una mà i la de plata en aixecament a dues mans. En el joc d'estirar la corda fou quart. (ca)
- Josef Steinbach (21. března 1879 Horšov – 15. ledna 1937 Vídeň) byl česko-rakouský vzpěrač. Pocházel ze západních Čech a od roku 1894 žil ve Vídni, kde byl od roku 1898 členem I. Erdberger Athleten-Klubu. Stal se mistrem Rakouska-Uherska ve vzpírání, vytvořil 35 světových rekordů, na mistrovství světa ve vzpírání získal zlatou medaili v roce 1914 v soutěži bez rozdílu vah a v roce 1905 zvítězil na mistrovství světa v Berlíně a v Duisburgu v těžké váze i bez rozdílu vah. Na Athénských olympijských mezihrách v roce 1906 vyhrál vzpírání obouruč a byl druhý ve vzpírání jednou rukou, s rakouským týmem v přetahování lanem obsadil čtvrté místo. (cs)
- Josef Steinbach (21 March 1879 – 15 January 1937) was an Austrian weightlifter. He was born in Bohemia and in 1894 moved to Vienna, where he began competing in weightlifting in 1898. He won three world titles in 1904–1905 and two medals at the 1906 Intercalated Games: a gold in one-hand and a silver in two-hand lift. After the Games he became professional wrestler and exhibition weightlifter. In 1910 he repeatedly challenged Arthur Saxon for the world professional weightlifting title, but to no avail. (en)
