John P. Scott (c. June 12, 1933 – May 21, 2010) was an American Republican Party politician who served in the New Jersey Senate from 1992 to 1998 where he represented the 36th Legislative District, which covered Passaic and portions of southern Bergen County. Scott lost his seat in November 1997 to Democrat Garry Furnari. Furnari won with 55% of the vote, taking the seat of what The New York Times described as "one of the most conservative Republicans in the Legislature". Scott died at age 76 on May 21, 2010.
