Ivan Knežević (Serbian Cyrillic: Иван Кнежевић) (Popovi, Bijeljina, 1760 - Šabac, 29 June 1840) better known to the people as Knez Ivo of Semberija was a Serb voivode and duke over all the villages of the then Bijeljina Nahia, who most notably participated in the First Serbian Uprising. Knyaz Ivo was born in Popovi near Bijeljina. Besides Filip Višnjić, he is one of the most important Serbian historical figures born in Semberija and as such his likeness appears on the coat of arms of the municipality of Bijeljina.

has abstract	Ο Ιβάν Κνέζεβιτς (σερβικά : Иван Кнежевић), , ήταν Σέρβος αγωνιστής της πρώτης σερβικής εξέγερσης. Ήταν κυβερνήτης σε όλα τα χωριά της περιοχής Bijeljina, έμεινε γνωστός σαν "πρίγκιπας Ίβο της Σαμπέριγιε". Το 1806 συμμετείχε στην εξαγορά Σέρβων αιχμαλώτων από τους Τούρκους. Το 1809 τέθηκε επικεφαλής του σχεδίου του Καραγιώργη για επέκταση της επανάστασης στην Βοσνία. Η Οθωμανική επίθεση στον Μοράβα τον ανάγκασε να εγκαταλείψη την Βοσνία και να πάει στην Αυστροουγγαρία στα παράκτια χωριά του ποταμού Σάβα όπου έγινε Κνεζ των Σέρβων προσφύγων της περιοχής. Το 1813 τέθηκε υπο τις διαταγές του Λούκα Λαζάρεβιτς στο Σάμπατς. Όταν δολοφονήθηκε ο Καραγιώργης έφυγε για το Σρεμ για να επιστρέψει μόλις το 1820. Ο Κνέζεβιτς αναφέρεται σε πολλά λογοτεχνικά έργα, σε όπερα, και σε ένα ποίημα.
