(en) L'Unterseeboot 988 ou U-988 est un sous-marin allemand (U-Boot) de type VIIC utilisé par la Kriegsmarine pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Le sous-marin fut commandé le 25 mai 1941 à Hambourg (Blohm + Voss), sa quille fut posée le 2 octobre 1942, il fut lancé le 3 juin 1943 et mis en service le 15 juillet 1943, sous le commandement de l'Oberleutnant zur See Erich Dobberstein. L'U-988 n'endommagea ou ne coula aucun navire au cours de l'unique patrouille (35 jours en mer) qu'il effectua. Il est coulé par l'Aviation britannique dans la Manche, en juin 1944. Son épave repose au large de Cherbourg. (fr) Unterseeboot 988 foi um submarino alemão do Tipo VIIC, pertencente a Kriegsmarine que atuou durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial. (pt) U-988 — німецький підводний човен типу VIIC, часів Другої світової війни. Замовлення на будівництво човна було віддане 25 травня 1941 року. Човен був закладений на верфі суднобудівної компанії «Blohm + Voss» у місті Гамбург 2 жовтня 1942 року під заводським номером 188, спущений на воду 3 червня 1943 року, 15 липня 1943 року увійшов до складу 5-ї флотилії. Також за час служби входив до складу 7-ї флотилії. Єдиним командиром човна був оберлейтенант-цур-зее Еріх Добберштайн. Човен зробив 1 бойовий похід, у якому не потопив і не пошкодив жодного судна.
