- Friedrich August Rudolph Kolenati (12 September 1812 – 17 July 1864) was a Czech-German botanist and zoologist active primarily in Prague and Brno. Kolenati was born in Prague where he completed elementary school and high school, then after graduation from the Medical Faculty of Charles University as a student of the natural sciences, especially botany and entomology, he continued as an assistant in botany. In 1842 he moved to Russia as an assistant in zoology at the St Petersburg Academy of Sciences. From 1842 to 1845 he participated in explorations of the Caucasus, ranging from the Azov Sea to Nagorno-Karabakh, and later conducted a survey of the lower Don River. (en)
- Friedrich August Rudolph Kolenati (12 de septiembre de 1812 - 17 de julio de 1864) fue un botánico, zoólogo, y mecenas checo-alemán activo principalmente en Praga y Brno. Nació en Praga, donde completó la escuela primaria y la escuela secundaria, y luego después de la graduación en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Carolina como estudiante de las ciencias naturales, en especial la botánica y la entomología , continuó como asistente en la botánica. En 1842 se trasladó a Rusia como asistente en zoología en la Academia de San Petersburgo de Ciencias.
