Curious George is a children's book written and illustrated by Margret Rey and H. A. Rey, and published by Houghton Mifflin in 1941. The first book in the Curious George series, it tells the story of an orphaned monkey named George and his adventures with the Man with the Yellow Hat. Uno dei personaggi di quella storia è una scimmietta di nome George, a cui poi i coniugi Margret e H.A. Rey decisero dedicare un intero libro di avventure. Peraltro, il nome di Margret Rey non è apparso nelle prime edizioni di Curioso come George perché l'editore pensava che la letteratura per bambini fosse troppo dominata dalle donne. (it)
