The Brahminzamindars, of Kashyap gotra, and Kanyakubja origin from Madarpur, a place in present-day Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The zamindars were defeated and massacred; the survivors migrated to other places in present-day Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The battle is Mentioned in Kanyakubja Brahmin Vanshavali and Kanyakubja Prabodhini.
