| - The Auto Union 1000 is a luxury compact front-wheel drive automobile manufactured by Auto Union GmbH between 1958 and 1965. It was the first (and in many markets the last) model branded as an Auto Union by the manufacturer since the 1930s; it replaced the paradoxically named DKW 3=6, although the latter continued in production, reassuringly now branded as the DKW 900, for another year. The two cars were broadly similar, but the new car had its two-stroke engine enlarged to 981 cc yielding a 10% - 37% (according to model) power increase. (en)

Dostępny jako: 2-drzwiowe coupé, 2-drzwiowy kabriolet, 3-drzwiowe kombi oraz 2- lub 4-drzwiowy sedan. Następca modelu DKW 3=6. Do napędu użyto dwusuwowego silnika R3 o pojemności jednego litra. Moc przenoszona była na oś przednią poprzez 4-biegową manualną skrzynię biegów. Samochód został zastąpiony przez model DKW F102. Ce sera le seul modèle produit sous la marque Auto Union depuis 1930. Il remplace la grosse , officiellement baptisée . Les deux voitures étaient très similaires, mais le nouveau modèle avait un moteur deux temps, trois cylindres, dont la cylindrée avait été augmentée à 981 cm3, développant une puissance de 44 Ch (33 kW) à 4 500 tours par minute.
