Joseph-Edmond-André Laurendeau (March 21, 1912 – June 1, 1968) was a journalist, politician, co-chair of the Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism, and playwright in Quebec, Canada. He is usually referred to as André Laurendeau. He was active in Québécois life, in various spheres and capacities, for three decades. Laurendeau's career also "spanned the most turbulent periods in the history of Canada".

Der Sohn des Musikprofessors und Dirigenten Arthur Laurendeau und der Pianistin besuchte das Collège Sainte-Marie in Montreal und die Universität Montreal und studierte ab 1935 an der Sorbonne und dem Institut Catholique de Paris Philosophie und Sozialwissenschaften. 1933 gründete er mit Freunden die Bewegung Jeune-Canada und wurde Mitarbeiter der von seinem Vater geleiteten Zeitschrift L'Action nationale. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Kanada leitete er die Zeitschrift von 1937 bis 1943. (de)
