Alfredo Manuel De La Fé (born February 6, 1954) is a Cuban-born and New York-based violinist who lived in Colombia for more than 16 years and is responsible for transforming the violin into an important sound of Salsa and Latin music. The first solo violinist to perform with a Salsa orchestra, De La Fé has toured the world more than thirty times, appearing in concert and participating in more than one hundred albums by such top-ranked Latin artists as Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, José Alberto "El Canario", Cheo Feliciano, The Fania All-Stars, Santana and Larry Harlow. His second solo album, Alfredo, released in 1979, received a Grammy nomination as "Best Latin album".

Es el responsable de transformar el violín a un sonido mucho más adecuado para la Salsa y la música latina, además de haber fabricado y patentado su propio violín. Además de todo esto, De la Fe es doctor en música de la Juilliard, y uno de los mejores violinistas de la música latina, como lo demuestran sus múltiples galardones, como el Premio al Mejor Violinista, que obtuvo por 5 años consecutivos, desde 1977. Il joue Mendelssohn et Tchaïkovski au Carnegie Hall et sort diplômé de la Julliard School. Son répertoire comprend entre autres : Historia de dos salseros, un hommage à Richie Ray et Bobby Cruz, Acuyuyé (reprise de Johnny Pacheco); etc.Sur le titre Que manera, il électrise son violon... En 1983, il s'est installé en Colombie. Alfredo de La Fé participe en 2001 au World Music Festiv'Alpe de Château-d'Œx dans le canton de Vaud en Suisse romande. (fr)
