- Der Adams-Preis (engl. Adams Prize) wird jährlich von der Universität Cambridge und dem St John’s College der Universität Cambridge für herausragende mathematische Leistungen an einen oder mehrere junge (normalerweise im Alter unter 40 Jahre), in Großbritannien lebende (UK based) Mathematiker verliehen. Früher war der Preis eine Auszeichnung für Mathematiker und theoretische Physiker der Universität Cambridge, die dafür einen Essay einreichten (Adams Prize Essay). Der Adams-Preis wurde 1848 im Gedenken an den Anteil von John Couch Adams an der Entdeckung des Neptuns gestiftet. Der Preis ist mit rund 15.000 Pfund dotiert (Stand 2015), wovon ein Drittel an die Institution geht, an der der Mathematiker angestellt ist. (de)

- Il premio Adams è assegnato ogni anno dalla facoltà di matematica dell'Università di Cambridge e del St John's College a un giovane matematico britannico per premiare risultati di livello internazionale. Il premio prende il nome dal matematico John Couch Adams, a cui è stato dedicato per commemorare la scoperta di Nettuno. Originariamente era aperto solo ai laureati a Cambridge, mentre oggi viene assegnato a matematici residenti nel Regno Unito sotto i 40 anni. Il premio ad oggi ammonta a 13.500 sterline. (it)
