St. Severin is a Lutheran parish church in Keitum on the island of Sylt, northern Germany. It was named after the 4th-century bishop Severin of Cologne. Built in the Romanesque style and first documented in 1240, the church stands back from the town at a higher elevation. Tests have shown that the roof of the church can be dated to 1216, making it the oldest religious building in Schleswig-Holstein. The tower was built around 1450 and served as a navigation mark for seafarers as well as a prison.

(en) De Sint-Severinuskerk (Duits:Kirche St. Severin) is een luthers kerkgebouw in op het waddeneiland Sylt. De kerk dankt haar naam aan Severinus van Keulen, een bisschop uit de 4e eeuw. Het kerkgebouw staat even buiten het dorp op de hoogste plaats van een zanderige verhoging. In de heidense tijd werd op deze plaats de Germaanse god Wodan vereerd. Uit dendrologisch onderzoek van monumentenzorg is gebleken dat de kerk er al in het jaar 1216 stond en daarmee is het de oudste kerk van Sleeswijk-Holstein. De huidige toren werd in het jaar 1450 gebouwd en diende tot 1603 als herkenningsbaken voor zeevarenden. Tijdelijk deed de toren in het verleden ook dienst als gevangenis. (nl) Die Kirche St. Severin ist eine evangelisch-lutherische Kirche in Keitum auf Sylt. Sie erhielt ihren Namen nach Severin von Köln, einem Bischof aus dem 4. Jahrhundert. Die Kirche steht abseits des Ortes auf der höchsten Erhebung des Sylter Geestkerns. An dieser Stelle befand sich in vorchristlicher Zeit ein Freya geweihtes Heiligtum. 1240 ist die Kirche erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Amtliche Untersuchungen der Denkmalpflege haben ergeben, dass die Errichtung des Dachstuhles der Kirche auf das Jahr 1216 datiert werden kann. (de)
