Roger Hall Gordon (born September 14, 1949) is an American economist whose research deals primarily with taxation. He graduated from Harvard in 1972 and received a PhD in economics from MIT in 1976. In 1984, he moved to the University of Michigan, first as an associate professor, then professor, and later as the Reuben Kempf Professor of Economics. He has also taught at Princeton, and been a visiting professor all over the world. Since 2001, he has been a professor of economics at UCSD. From 1992 to 2016 he organized the Trans-Atlantic Public Economics Seminar.
