Richard Challoner (29 September 1691 – 12 January 1781) was an English Roman Catholic bishop, a leading figure of English Catholicism during the greater part of the 18th century. The titular Bishop of Doberus, he is perhaps most famous for his revision of the Douay–Rheims translation of the Bible.

Hijo de padre presbiteriano que le dejó huérfano a temprana edad, su madre fue acogida por diversas familias católicas; Challoner creció como católico, y en 1704 fue enviado al Colegio Inglés de Douai, del que llegaría a ser profesor, seminario símbolo por antonomasia del catolicismo inglés en el exilio. Abrazó la carrera eclesiástica y retornó a su país en tarea misionera en 1730.
