| - 『世界を騙しつづける科学者たち』（せかいをだましつづけるかがくしゃたち、原題: Merchants of Doubt）は、アメリカの科学史家ナオミ・オレスケスとエリック・M・コンウェイによる2010年のノンフィクション本である。日本語版は2011年に楽工社から出された。本書では地球温暖化に関する論争と、それ以前の喫煙、酸性雨、DDT、オゾンホールなどに関する科学的論争に共通点があるという指摘がなされている。著者らによると、これらすべての論争において、規制に反対する側は、科学的なコンセンサスが成立した後になっても疑念を喚起して混乱を作り出すことで「論争を終わらせずにおく」という基本戦術を取った。特に、フレッド・サイツとをはじめとするの科学者が保守系シンクタンクや民間企業と結託して多くの現代的問題に関する科学的コンセンサスを攻撃してきたとされた。 本書は題材となった人物から批判を受けているが、ほとんどのレビュアーには好意的に受け止められた。あるレビュアーは、本書は徹底的な調査によって裏付けられており、2010年の最も重要な書籍に数えられると評した。別のレビュアーは本書を科学関連書籍の年間ベストに選んだ。2014年にはロバート・ケナー監督により『世界を欺く商人たち（原題: Merchants of Doubt ）』のタイトルで映画化された。 (ja)

El libro identifica similitudes entre el debate sobre el cambio climático y las más recientes controversias sobre el consumo de tabaco, la lluvia ácida y el agujero de ozono. Oreskes y Conway escriben que en cada caso "se mantiene viva la controversia" mediante la difusión de la duda y la confusión después de que se haya llegado a un consenso científico, que esa fue la estrategia básica de aquellas acciones contrarias. - Merchants of Doubt: How a Handful of Scientists Obscured the Truth on Issues from Tobacco Smoke to Global Warming is a 2010 non-fiction book by American historians of science Naomi Oreskes and Erik M. Conway. It identifies parallels between the global warming controversy and earlier controversies over tobacco smoking, acid rain, DDT, and the hole in the ozone layer. Oreskes and Conway write that in each case "keeping the controversy alive" by spreading doubt and confusion after a scientific consensus had been reached was the basic strategy of those opposing action. In particular, they show that Fred Seitz, Fred Singer, and a few other contrarian scientists joined forces with conservative think tanks and private corporations to challenge the scientific consensus on many contemporary issues. W książce przedstawione są kontrowersje związane z globalnym ociepleniem, paleniem tytoniu, kwaśnymi deszczami, DDT i dziurą ozonową. Oreskes i Conway twierdzą, że podstawową strategią tych, którzy w każdym z tych przypadków sprzeciwiali się podejmowaniu działań, było "podtrzymywanie kontrowersji" poprzez rozpowszechnianie wątpliwości oraz robienie zamieszania po tym, jak został osiągnięty konsensus naukowy.
