- Die 81. Rallye Monte Carlo war der erste von 13 FIA-Weltmeisterschaftsläufen 2013. Die Rallye bestand aus 18 Wertungsprüfungen und wurde zwischen dem 15. und dem 20. Januar gefahren. Seit dem Jahr 2000 hat es nicht mehr so stark geschneit wie in diesem Jahr. Die Fahrer und Teams waren gefordert. Sébastien Loeb und Daniel Elena haben die Rallye bereits sechsmal gewonnen. Volkswagen debütierte in Monte Carlo und fuhr gleich auf das Podest, Sébastien Ogier belegte Platz 2 hinter Loeb. Die Rallye Monte Carlo war vor 40 Jahren, im Jahre 1973, der erste Rallye-Weltmeisterschaftslauf der Geschichte. (de)

- The 2013 Monte Carlo Rally (formally known as the 81ème Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo) was a motor racing event for rally cars that was held over four days between 16 and 19 January, and marked the eighty-first running of the Monte Carlo Rally. After the ceremonial start in Monte Carlo, the rally was based in the French town of Valence. The rally itself was contested over eighteen special stages in the French provinces of Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, covering a total of 468.42 km (291.06 mi) in competitive stages. Se celebró del 16 al 19 de enero y contó con un itinerario de dieciocho tramos sobre asfalto que sumaron un total de 468,42 km cronometrados, de los cuales solo se disputaron dieciséis. La prueba marcó el debut de dos nuevos campeonatos: el WRC 2, que sustituye al Campeonato Super 2000 y el WRC 3, que sustituye al Campeonato de Producción. Rajd był także 1. rundą Mistrzostw Świata Samochodów S2000 (SWRC) oraz Mistrzostw Świata Samochodów Produkcyjnych (PWRC). Rajd wygrał Sébastien Loeb, była to jego 77. wygrana w karierze, 7. w rajdzie Monte Carlo. Drugie miejsce zajął Sébastien Ogier, a trzeci był Dani Sordo.
