Walter Charles Langer (February 5, 1899 – July 4, 1981) was an American psychoanalyst who was best known for preparing a psychological analysis of Adolf Hitler in 1943. Langer studied psychoanalysis at Harvard University, where he worked as a professor upon completion of his education. Langer was later employed by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) where in the year of 1943 he prepared a psychological analysis of Adolf Hitler. Within this analysis, Langer accurately predicted Hitler's suicide as the "most plausible outcome", as well as the possibility of a military coup against Hitler well before the assassination attempt of 1944. Following his psychological analysis and Hitler's death, Langer wrote a report surrounding the events of Adolf Hitler's life titled The Mind of Adolf Hitler:

Dopo essersi laureato nel 1923 a Harvard, negli anni '30 si trasferì a Vienna e intraprese un'analisi con Anna Freud. In questo modo entrò in contatto con il padre Sigmund Freud, ed ebbe anche modo di accompagnarlo a Londra quando questi vi emigrò per sfuggire alle persecuzioni razziali dei nazisti. È noto soprattutto per aver elaborato nel 1943 uno studio commissionato dai servizi segreti americani sulla personalità di Adolf Hitler. Su incarico del generale William Joseph Donovan, Langer analizzò numerose interviste in possesso dei servizi segreti a persone che erano venute in contatto con Hitler, e, tra gli altri aspetti, ne indicò il suicidio come probabile epilogo in caso di sconfitta.
