- Das Visible Human Project (VHP) ist ein Projekt mit dem Ziel, auf der Basis von Querschnitten kompletter menschlicher Körper detaillierte Daten für die Visualisierung der Anatomie des Menschen zu gewinnen. Für diesen Zweck wurden die Körper von zwei Spendern eingefroren und in dünne Scheiben geschnitten, die fotografiert und digitalisiert wurden. Das Projekt gehört zur amerikanischen National Library of Medicine (NLM) und steht unter der Leitung von Michael J. Ackerman. Die Planungen begannen 1989. Die Daten zum männlichen Körper wurden im November 1994 veröffentlicht, die zum weiblichen Körper im November 1995. Das Projekt wird gegenwärtig am in Washington, DC dokumentiert. (de)
- Le Visible Human Project vise à créer une base de données de photographies de sections du corps humain. Deux cadavres, celui d’un homme et celui d’une femme, ont été découpés en fines tranches, chacune de ces sections étant ensuite photographiée et numérisée. Le projet est dirigé par la National Library of Medicine des États-Unis, sous la direction de Michael J. Ackerman. La conception du projet a débuté en 1986, la récolte des données relatives au corps humain masculin a été achevée en novembre 1994, et celle du corps féminin en novembre 1995. Le projet peut être observé aujourd’hui au Musée National de la Santé et de la Médecine à Washington. On envisage à l’heure actuelle de reprendre ce projet, avec des images de plus haute définition, mais seulement avec des parties du corps, au lieu d’un cadavre. (fr)
- The Visible Human Project is an effort to create a detailed data set of cross-sectional photographs of the human body, in order to facilitate anatomy visualization applications. It is used as a tool for the progression of medical findings, in which these findings link anatomy to its audiences. A male and a female cadaver were cut into thin slices, which were then photographed and digitized. The project is run by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) under the direction of Michael J. Ackerman. Planning began in 1986; the data set of the male was completed in November 1994 and the one of the female in November 1995. The project can be viewed today at the NLM in Bethesda, Maryland. There are currently efforts to repeat this project with higher resolution images but only with parts of the body instead of a cadaver. (en)
- O Visible Human Project (Projeto Ser Humano Visível, em português) é um projeto proposto pela Biblioteca Nacional de Medicina dos EUA em 1986 para criar uma base de representações digitais da anatomia do corpo humano detalhada que sirva de referência para estudos anatômicos e para testar algoritmos de imagens médicas. Essas representações formam uma biblioteca de cortes anatômicos transversais, tomografias de raios X a fresco e congelado e de ressonância magnética. Desde 2019 as imagens do projeto podem ser acessadas livremente. As imagens foram obtidas de um cadáver masculino (em 1994) e outro feminino (em 1995). Desde sua publicação, já foram utilizadas numa ampla variedade de projetos de uso educacionais, de diagnóstico, de realidade virtual, artístico, matemático e industrial. (pt)
