- Les plaques de matrícula dels vehicles de Macedònia del Nord es componen d'un sistema de numeració alfanumèrica de sis caràcters, quatre xifres i dues lletres, més dues lletres pel codi identificatiu d'àrea a l'inici (per exemple, <b> AA 1234 AB</b>). Segueix el mateix format que les plaques de matrícula de la UE (amb dimensions de 520 mm × 110 mm), afegint una franja blava a l'esquerra on només hi trobem el codi internacional del país, NMK en blanc. Els caràcters són de color negre sobre fons blanc i estan escrits en alfabet llatí. Excepte els caràcters que trobem dins el quadrat vermell de seguretat entre els codis d'àrea i la combinació de la matrícula, escrits en alfabet ciríl·lic. (ca)

- Die aktuellen nordmazedonischen Kfz-Kennzeichen entsprechen dem europäischen Standardmaß von 520 × 110 mm. Sie bestehen aus zwei lateinischen Buchstaben für die Herkunft, vier Ziffern und weiteren zwei Buchstaben. Zwischen den ersten beiden Buchstaben und den Ziffern befindet sich ein rot eingerahmtes Schild, in dem die regionalen Buchstaben und zwei weitere Buchstaben in kyrillischer Schrift erscheinen. Am linken Rand befindet sich in Anlehnung an die Euro-Kennzeichen ein blaues Feld mit dem Nationalitätszeichen NMK (ehemals MK). Die derzeitigen Nummernschilder wurden am 20. Februar 2012 eingeführt. Nachdem sich die ehemalige jugoslawische Republik Mazedonien und Griechenland über den Namen des Landes einig geworden sind, nannte sie sich am 12. Februar 2019 in Republik Nordmazedonien um. - Sinds de onafhankelijkheid van Macedonië in 1991 werd eerst de oude Joegoslavische kentekens gebruikt tot de invoering van een eigen kenteken in 1995. Het huidige Macedonische kenteken bestaat uit een witte kentekenplaat met twee zwarte letters die de herkomst aangeeft, dan een rood vlak met de herkomst in het Cyrillisch, gevolgd door drie cijfers en twee letters met aan de linkerkant een blauw vlak, net als de Europese kentekens, echter zonder Europese vlag en met de letters MK. Dit kenteken is in gebruik 20 februari 2012 tot februari 2019. Van 1995 tot de invoering van het huidige kenteken zag deze er hetzelfde uit, echter het verschil dat het blauwe vlak ontbrak en dat er aan de boven/ en onderzijde een rode streep liep. De huidige motorfiets kentekens bestaan uit vier cijfers. De politie heeft een afwijkend kenteken, aan de voorzijde staat Politie zowel in het Engels als in het Cyrillisch.
