- Van Weezer és el catorzè àlbum d'estudi de la banda estatunidenca de rock alternatiu Weezer. És previst de publicar el 15 de maig de 2020. El líder de la banda, Rivers Cuomo, va començar a treballar en noves cançons a principis de 2019. En aquesta ocasió es va decantar per influències de rock dur per arraconar el pop rock i l'electropop que havia utilitzat en els darrers treballs. La nova direcció l'acosta al seu anterior treball Maladroit (2002), inspirat ens les bandes de hard rock i heavy metal de les dècades del 1970 i 1980 com per exemple Kiss, Black Sabbath, Metallica i Van Halen. De fet, es van inspirar pel títol de l'àlbum en aquesta darrera banda. El primer senzill de l'àlbum fou «The End of the Game» i es va llançar el 10 de setembre de 2019, fet que van aprofitar per anunciar la data de publicació de l'àlbum. En el videoclip de la cançó, que es va estrenar el mateix dia compta amb la banda de rock , tot i que no col·laboren en la cançó. (ca)

Sorti un peu plus de trois mois après leur précédent album, bien qu'initialement prévu pour l'année précédente mais repoussé en raison de la pandémie de Covid-19, Van Weezer est caractérisé par sa sonorité tournée vers le hard rock ou le heavy metal, s'inspirant notamment de groupes tels que Kiss, Metallica, Black Sabbath ou bien Van Halen auquel le titre de l'album fait directement référence. L'album coïncide avec la tournée prévue par le groupe en collaboration avec les groupes Fall Out Boy et Green Day, surnommée le Hella Mega Tour dont la première date est prévue pour juillet 2021 et qui se conclura par une tournée européenne au début de l'été suivant, elle-même repoussée de deux ans par rapport à sa date initiale. - Van Weezer is the fifteenth studio album by American rock band Weezer, released on May 7, 2021 by Crush Music and Atlantic Records. Featuring a classic rock and hard rock inspired sound, the album was announced in September 2019 with an original release date of May 2020, coinciding with announcement of the band's participation in the Hella Mega Tour alongside Green Day and Fall Out Boy. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour was delayed indefinitely and Van Weezer's release was delayed until May 2021, almost four months after the release of the band's previous album OK Human. Four singles were released ahead of the album's release; "The End of the Game", "Hero", "Beginning of the End" and "I Need Some of That". A fifth single, "All The Good Ones," was released on the same day as the album. The album received generally positive reviews from critics. It debuted and peaked at number 11 on the US Billboard 200 chart. (en)
