- كان معهد الأمم المتحدة الدولي للبحث والتدريب من أجل النهوض بالمرأة (بالإنجليزية: United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women) كما يعرف اختصاراً(بالإنجليزية: UN-INSTRAW) هيئة الأمم المتحدة الرائدة في مجال البحوث وإدارة المعرفة وتنمية قدرات المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين المرأة. لقد أسفرت نُهج المعهد التشاركية والابتكارية في مجال البحوث عن بيانات ونتائج مصنفة حسب نوع الجنس والتي ساعدت على تحسين تصميم برامج التدريب وبناء القدرات وتعزيز قدرة أصحاب المصلحة على معالجة المنظورات الجنسانية وإدماجها بفعالية في جميع السياسات والبرامج والمشاريع. يعمل المعهد في شراكة مع الحكومات ومنظومة الأمم المتحدة والمجتمع المدني والأوساط الأكاديمية. - Mezinárodní výzkumný a vzdělávací ústav pro podporu žen (anglicky International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women; INSTRAW) je zvláštní orgán Organizace spojených národů (OSN). INSTRAW byl ustanoven na základě doporučení Světové konference během Mezinárodního roku žen v roce 1975 v Mexiku. INSTRAW zahájil provoz v roce 1979 – od roku 1983 sídlí v Santo Domingu, hlavním městě Dominikánské republiky, se zaměřením na zlepšení postavení žen prostřednictvím vzdělávání a odborné přípravy; hlavním cílem INSTRAW je podpora role ženy ve světovém rozvoji. Ústav je financován prostřednictvím charitativních příspěvků, které jsou poskytovány převážně vládními agenturami nebo soukromými dárci. Řízení INSTRAW se skládá z 11 osob: zástupce tajemníka, ředitele , zástupce 5 regionálních komisí a zástupce hostitelské země Jsou voleni podle rezoluce Hospodářské a sociální rady. INSTRAW navíc získává podporu dobrovolníků prostřednictvím programů stáže OSN. Zcela v rozporu s cíli institutu však podíl žen v parlamentu Organizace spojených národů poklesl z 14,8 % v roce 1988 na 11,3 % v roce 1995. (cs)
- Das Internationale Forschungs- und Ausbildungsinstitut zur Förderung der Frau (englisch International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women, INSTRAW) war ein Spezialorgan der Vereinten Nationen mit Sitz in Santo Domingo. Es wurde auf Empfehlung der Weltkonferenz des Internationalen Jahres der Frau 1975 in Mexiko durch den UN-Wirtschafts- und Sozialrat errichtet. INSTRAW nahm seine Tätigkeit 1979 auf – ab 1983 war ihr Sitz in Santo Domingo, der Hauptstadt der Dominikanischen Republik. INSTRAWs Schwerpunkte waren die Rolle der Frau im Entwicklungsprozess sowie ihre Förderung durch Forschung und Ausbildung. Das Institut finanzierte sich durch Spendenbeiträge, die meist von Regierungsorganen oder privaten Spendern zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Die Verwaltung von INSTRAW bestand aus elf Personen: einer Vertreterin des Generalsekretärs, der Direktorin des Institutes, je einem Vertreter der fünf regionalen Wirtschaftskommissionen, einem Repräsentanten des Gastlandes und Vertretern von drei Staaten, die vom UN-Wirtschafts- und Sozialrat gewählt wurden. Zudem erhielt INSTRAW Unterstützung von Referenten, freiwilligen Mitarbeitern der UN sowie durch ein reges Praktikantenprogramm. Ganz im Gegensatz zu den Zielen des Instituts hat der Prozentsatz der Frauen in den Parlamenten der Vereinten Nationen von 14,8 % im Jahr 1988 auf 11,3 % im Jahr 1995 abgenommen. INSTRAW ging im Juli 2010 in der durch Resolution 64/289 der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen neugegründeten United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women auf. (de)
- El Instituto Internacional de Investigaciones y Capacitación de las Naciones Unidas para la promoción de la Mujer (UN- INSTRAW) es un organismo de Naciones Unidas dedicado a la investigación, capacitación y gestión del conocimiento para alcanzar la igualdad de género y el empoderamiento de las mujeres, y fue creado por el Consejo Económico y Social (ECOSOC) de las Naciones Unidas, tras la primera Conferencia Mundial de Mujeres de México de 1975. Tras la recomendación del ECOSOC de que se localizará en un país en desarrollo, la sede central de UN-INSTRAW se situó en Santo Domingo, en la República Dominicana, lo que le confiere una clara dimensión iberoamericana. En colaboración con los gobiernos, la sociedad civil y el sistema de las Naciones Unidas, el INSTRAW lidera actuaciones innovadoras y estratégicas que contribuyen a mejorar la vida de las mujeres. Trabaja sobre la base de un proceso continuo de análisis, aprendizaje y acción para que los resultados de la investigación reviertan en el diseño de los programas de formación, en la construcción de capacidad y en la formulación de las políticas. Las principales áreas de actuación vienen siendo Mujeres, Paz y Seguridad, Mujeres migrantes, Desarrollo y Remesas y Participación política de las mujeres, particularmente a nivel local. El marco estratégico 2008-2011 consolida los programas de investigación y capacitación desarrollados en el periodo anterior y que han obtenido creciente reconocimiento y visibilidad. (es)
- Dal 1979 l'Istituto internazionale delle Nazioni Unite per la ricerca e la formazione del progresso delle donne (United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women o UN-INSTRAW) è il principale Istituto delle Nazioni Unite] preposto alla ricerca; allo sviluppo delle capacità e delle competenze (cosiddetto capacity-development); alla gestione e formazione delle conoscenze (cosiddetto knowledge management) per raggiungere l'uguaglianza di genere e l'empowerment delle donne. Gli approcci partecipativi ed innovativi di quest'Istituto alla ricerca hanno prodotto dati di genere disaggregati ed esiti che sono serviti a migliorare la progettazione di programmi di training e sviluppo delle competenze, oltre che a potenziare le capacità delle parti interessate per indirizzare ed integrare efficacemente le prospettive di genere in tutte le politiche, i programmi ed i progetti in materia.
