- Els víkings (en anglès The Vikings) és una pel·lícula d'aventures estatunidenca de 1958 basada en la novel·la homònima d'. Fou dirigida per Richard Fleischer i va comptar amb les actuacions de Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh i Ernest Borgnine. Ha estat traduïda al català i emesa per primer cop a TV3 el 28 d'abril de 1993. La pel·lícula va fer un ús notable dels escenaris naturals de Noruega. Es va rodar majoritàriament a i , fotografiats per Jack Cardiff, tot i que el castell d'Aella era el veritable al nord-est de la Bretanya i el rodatge també es va situar al Canal d'Ístria (Fiord), a Croàcia. Tot i ser titllada despectivament de "western nòrdic" pel crític del New York Times Bosley Crowther, la pel·lícula va resultar un gran èxit de taquilla i va generar la sèrie de televisió , dirigida per l'editor de la pel·lícula , que no incloïa cap dels membres o personatges del repartiment original. - The Vikings is a 1958 American epic historical fiction swashbuckling film directed by Richard Fleischer and filmed in Technicolor. It was produced by Jerry Bresler and stars Kirk Douglas. It is based on the 1951 novel The Viking by Edison Marshall, which in turn is based on material from the sagas of Ragnar Lodbrok and his sons. Other starring roles were taken by then husband-and-wife Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh as well as Ernest Borgnine. The film made notable use of natural locations in Norway. It was mostly filmed in Maurangerfjorden and Maurangsnes, captured on film by cinematographer Jack Cardiff, although Aella's castle was the real Fort-la-Latte in north-east Brittany in France. Despite being derisively called a "Norse Opera" by New York Times critic Bosley Crowther, the film proved a major box office success and spawned the television series Tales of the Vikings, directed by the film's editor, Elmo Williams, which included none of the original cast or characters.
