- V ulicích San Francisca (v anglickém originále The Streets of San Francisco) je americký televizní krimi seriál, který se natáčel v San Francisku a vznikal v produkci Quinn Martin Productions a Warner Bros. Television (pouze pro první sezonu). V hlavních rolích dvou inspektorů se představili Karl Malden a Michael Douglas. Seriál byl vysílán mezi lety 1972 a 1977 na ABC a obsahoval 119 šedesátiminutových epizod. Douglas na začátku závěrečné sezony seriál opustil a nahradil ho . Seriál odstartoval pilotním filmem stejného názvu (natočeného na motivy detektivního románu Poor, Poor Ophelia od Carolyn Westonové) týden před debutem prvního dílu. , který k pilotnímu filmu napsal scénář, byl připsán jako tvůrce seriálu. V hostujících rolích se ve filmu objevili , a Kim Darbyová. (cs)

Ab Ende der 1980er Jahre wiederholte ProSieben die Serie und sendete die bisher fehlenden Folgen, die nicht im ZDF gezeigt wurden. Eine technisch aufgearbeitete Version lief 2014 bei RTL Nitro. (de)

The show ran for five seasons, between 1972 and 1977, on ABC, amassing a total of 119 60-minute episodes. Douglas left the series at the start of its final season, and was replaced by Richard Hatch. The series started with a pilot movie of the same title (based on the 1972 detective novel Poor, Poor Ophelia by Carolyn Weston) a week before the series debuted. Edward Hume, who wrote the teleplay for the pilot, was credited as having developed the series based on characters in Weston's novel. Coprotagonisti sono Karl Malden nei panni del tenente Mike Stone e l'attore esordiente (nonché figlio d'arte e futura star di Hollywood) Michael Douglas nel ruolo di Steve Keller. Douglas lasciò la serie dopo i primi due episodi dell'ultima stagione, lasciando il posto a Richard Hatch nella parte di Dan Robbins. Il suo episodio pilota è tratto dal romanzo "Poor, poor Ophelia" di Carolyn Weston, pubblicato in italiano dalla collana dei gialli Mondadori negli anni 70, con il titolo "Povera, povera Ofelia". De show ging over twee politieagenten in San Francisco op zoek naar criminelen: de veteraan Lt. Mike Stone (Karl Malden), geassisteerd door de jonge afgestudeerde Insp. Steve Keller (Michael Douglas). De serie maakte van Michael Douglas een ster. Douglas stopte met de serie in het vijfde seizoen in 1976 om de film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest te produceren. De afwezigheid van zijn karakter in de serie werd verklaard door te verklaren dat hij een baan als docent had bij een plaatselijk college. Lt. Stone nam een andere detective, Insp. Dan Robbins (Richard Hatch) aan, maar de populariteit van de serie nam af en het werd daarom beëindigd in 1977. Een NBC TV film "Back to the Streets of San Francisco" verscheen in 1992. Karl Malden is weer Mike Stone maar Kellers absentie wordt verklaard doordat hij het slachtoffer is van een moord. (nl)
