- The Signal is a 2007 American horror film written and directed by independent filmmakers David Bruckner, Dan Bush and Jacob Gentry. It is told in three parts, in which all telecommunication and audiovisual devices transmit only a mysterious signal turning people mad and activating murderous behaviour in many of those affected. The film's three interconnected chapters ("transmissions") are presented in a nonlinear narrative. Each of them manifests elements of (besides the overall genre of psychological horror), respectively, splatter film, black comedy, and a post-apocalyptic love story. The Signal was met with a mixed but largely positive critical reception. (en)

- The Signal è un film horror indipendente del 2007 diretto da David Bruckner, Dan Bush e Jacob Gentry. Il film è suddiviso in tre parti e racconta il divulgarsi di un misterioso segnale, propagato da telefoni, radio, televisione ed altri mezzi tecnologici, che crea un'epidemia di follia omicida nella gente. I tre capitoli, chiamati "transmission", sono diretti ciascuno da uno dei tre registi ed ognuno rappresenta un punto di vista differente, toccando diversi generi cinematografici, dall'horror/splatter del primo, passando dall'humor nero del secondo fino alla cupa storia d'amore del finale. Presentato in anteprima al Sundance Film Festival nel gennaio 2007, il film è stato distribuito con una censura di tipo R, a causa di scene di sangue, violenza e breve nudità. (it)
