- Las cinco feministas (del inglés The Feminist Five) es un grupo de cinco feministas chinas que fueron arrestadas en Beijing el 6 de marzo de 2015 por organizar una protesta contra el acoso sexual en el transporte público. El quinteto está compuesto por Li Maizi (nombre de nacimiento Li Tingting), Wu Rongrong, Zheng Churan, Wei Tingting y Wang Man. Las cinco mujeres estuvieron detenidas durante 37 días después de repartir pegatinas sobre el acoso sexual en el metro antes del Día Internacional de la Mujer (8 de marzo) y se dieron a conocer después de su arresto. Su detención provocó una gran indignación a nivel internacional y nacional, y se convocaron protestas en apoyo de las cinco mujeres en los Estados Unidos, el Reino Unido, Corea del Sur, Hong Kong, India, Polonia y Australia; en China fueron objeto de censura y represión. Las Cinco Feministas fueron liberadas bajo fianza el 13 de abril de 2015 tras las protestas que siguieron a su detención. Este hecho se convirtió en una parte importante de la historia feminista china y The Feminist Five todavía están criminalizadas y bajo vigilancia estatal a pesar de su liberación. - The Feminist Five is a group of five Chinese feminists who were arrested in Beijing on March 6, 2015 for planning a protest against sexual harassment on public transportation. The quintet is composed of Li Maizi (birth name Li Tingting), Wu Rongrong, Zheng Churan, Wei Tingting and . The five women were detained for 37 days after planning to hand out sexual harassment stickers on the subway ahead of International Women's Day (March 8) and became known following their arrest. Their arrest sparked outrage both internationally and domestically, leading to protests in support of the five women in the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Hong Kong, India, Poland and Australia although protests within China were subject to censorship and crackdowns. The Feminist Five were released on bail on April 13, 2015 due to the backlash following their detention. The incident became part of Chinese feminist history and the Feminist Five are still criminalized and under state surveillance after their release. While their detention sparked outrage and encouraged young women to speak up and also take part in feminist activism, it was hard to engage in feminist activism without funding.
