Thomas Nelson "Nellie" Metcalf (September 21, 1890 – January 17, 1982) was an American football and basketball player, track athlete, coach of football and track, professor of physical education, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Columbia University (1915–1917) as well as his alma mater, Oberlin College (1913, 1919–1921), compiling a career college football record of 33–13–4. From 1924 to 1933, Metcalf taught at Iowa State University in the physical education department and served as the school's athletic director.
