It is a member of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and, in partnership with the Royal Spanish Winter Sports Federation (RFEDI), represents Spain in all international interactions regarding the Winter Olympics. The RFEDH is headquartered in Barcelona and its president is Frank González, a former ice hockey player and official. The federation was called the Spanish Ice Sports Federation (Spanish: Federación Española de Deportes de Hielo) until S.M. Заснована 1923 року, член ІІХФ з 1923 року. Також федерація є членом Міжнародного союзу ковзанярів, , Міжнародної федерації санного спорту та Міжнародної федерації бобслею і тобогана. В країні налічується 854 зареєстрованих гравців (236 із них — дорослі), 18 хокейних залів. Під егідою федерації проходить чемпіонат Іспанії з хокею починаючи з 1973 року.
