- Rubén Isaac Albarrán Ortega (Ciudad de México, México, 1 de febrero de 1967), es un músico, compositor, cantante, productor discográfico y activista mexicano. Es integrante y fundador de la banda de rock alternativo Café Tacvba. Como cantante y frontman de Café Tacvba, el artista se ha caracterizado por su actitud energética en el escenario y por presentarse con distintos personajes y alias a lo largo de su trayectoria. Inició en la música en los años ochenta en la periferia de la Ciudad de México, formando Café Tacvba junto a Joselo Rangel entre 1988 y 1989, grupo con el que alcanzó fama internacional y con el que se ha hecho acreedor a premios Grammy y Grammy Latino. Como solista ha editado un disco, Bienvenido al sueño, y formó el grupo Hoppo!, además de realizar duetos y versiones con diversos artistas de México y América Latina. Es activista de causas medioambientales y de defensa del territorio, y ha manifestado su apoyo a diversas causas políticas como el Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional y el movimiento YoSoy132, entre otros. - Rubén Isaac Albarrán Ortega (born February 1, 1967) is a Mexican musician, singer, song writer, music producer, and activist. He is a member and founder of the alternative rock band Café Tacvba. As singer and frontman of Café Tacvba, the artist has characterized himself by his energetic attitude onstage and for presenting himself as different characters and aliases throughout his career. He started in music in the 1980s in the suburbs of Mexico City, forming Cafe Tacvba together with Joselo Rangel between 1988 and 1989, a group with which he gained international fame and made him worthy of the prizes Grammy and Grammy Latino. As a soloist he has released an album, Bienvenido al sueño and he formed the group Hoppo!, in addition to making duets and covers with diverse artists from Mexico and Latin America. He is an environmental activist and has shown his support for various political causes like the Zapatista Army of National Liberation and the Yo Soy 132 movement, among others. (en)
