- Das Centre Pierre-Charbonneau ist eine Veranstaltungshalle in Montreal, die für Sport- und Kulturanlässe genutzt wird. Sie befindet sich im Arrondissement Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve am Boulevard Viau und ist Teil des Olympiaparks. Die Halle hat eine Kapazität von 2000 Zuschauern. Die Halle wurde 1957 als Gemeinschaftszentrum gebaut und trug zunächst die Bezeichnung Complexe sportif Maisonneuve. Später wurde sie einige Jahre lang als Teil einer Polizeischule genutzt. Während der Olympischen Sommerspiele 1976 diente die Halle als Austragungsort der Ringer-Wettkämpfe, mit Ausnahme der Finalrunde im Freistilringen. Im März 1976 war sie zu Ehren von Pierre Charbonneau, dem kurz zuvor verstorbenen Vizepräsidenten des Organisationskomitees der Sommerspiele, umbenannt worden. Zwischen 2005 und 2009 war das Centre Pierre-Charbonneau die Spielstätte zweier Basketballteams, der Montreal Matrix in der American Basketball Association und der Montreal Sasquatch in der . The arena also hosted wrestling events at the 1976 Summer Olympics. It was originally built as a police academy and is located at 3000 rue Viau. All types of courses are given in such areas as gymnastics, martial arts, music, and languages. The center also hosts various conventions and exhibitions during the year. It is the former home of the Montreal Jazz of the National Basketball League of Canada. It was formerly host to the Montreal Royal of the American Basketball Association's current incarnation, and the Montreal Sasquatch of the Premier Basketball League. On December, 27, Thursday, 2007 the arena held a TNA Wrestling House Show. In September 2016, Montreal Roller Derby hosted a 2016 International Women's Flat Track Derby Association Division 1 roller derby playoff tournament at the venue. (en)
