- Der Nirekha ist ein Berg im Mahalangur Himal im östlichen Nepal. Der Nirekha liegt in der Khumbu-Region, 16 km westlich des Mount Everest, und besitzt eine Höhe von 6169 m. Der Berg besitzt zwei ungefähr gleich hohe pyramidenförmige Gipfel (Nord- und Südgipfel), die sich aus dem Gipfelplateau erheben.Der Nirekha fällt in die Kategorie "A" der Klettergipfel gemäß der Mountaineers Association of Nepal. Der Lobuche-Westgipfel (6145 m) liegt 2 km weiter östlich im selben Bergkamm. Westlich liegt der Bergsattel Cho La Col (5650 m), südwestlich der Gebirgspass (5380 m). Weiter westlich jenseits des Cho La Col erhebt sich der (6103 m). 6,38 km südlich liegt der Cholatse (6440 m). Nach Nordosten führt ein Bergkamm zum Chumbu (6853 m). Die Standardroute führt über den Cho La Col und den Westgrat zum Gipfelplateau und besitzt den Schwierigkeitsgrad AD+. (de)
- Nirekha peak, Nepal, is in the same chain as the Lobuche summits, east of the Cho La Col (not to be confused with the famous Cho La pass a few hundred meters away). The peak is in the list of the new 'A' trekking peaks, for which in 2006 a peak fee of $500 had to be paid. The normal ascent to the Nirekha Peak is a great and — depending on the conditions — difficult climb, at difficulty AD+/D-. Only experienced climbers should attempt this route, though it is partially saved with fixed ropes. The summit consists of two summit pyramids. It is unclear which one is higher. The north summit is easier but requires to cross a difficult crevasse, while the south summit requires one pitch in steep 50° ice. The Kanchung BC is the preferable starting point, from the lake camp it is hardly doable in one day. Both ascents are scenically beautiful. The first ascent was done by Matt Fioretti and Greg Valentine in April 2003. The second ascent was done by an all-women team in October 2003. (en)
