- Un almanac nàutic és un almanac on es publica informació astronòmica utilitzada en nàutica per a navegació astronòmica. A més d'aquesta informació bàsica pot contenir, a més, una altra informació útil per a la navegació com pot ser informació sobre marees i ports. A l'estat espanyol des del 1792 publica un almanac nàutic el Real Instituto y Observatorio de la Armada (Reial Institut i Observatori de l'Armada) de Sant Fernando, Cadis. El govern britànic ha publicat el seu almanac nàutic sense interrupció des de 1767. L'almanac més utilitzat i difós és el publicat conjuntament pels governs britànic Arxivat 2007-06-30 a Wayback Machine. i nord-americà. Els esmentats almanacs són publicacions governamentals que contenen només les prediccions astronòmiques i altres taules necessàries per a la navegació astronòmica. Hi ha altres almanacs publicats comercialment que contenen, a més d'aquesta informació astronòmica, una altra informació útil al navegant com prediccions sobre marees i altra informació sobre ports, fars, ajudes a la navegació, etc. Entre aquests tenen gran tradició Reed's Nautical Almanac (publicat des del 1932) i Brown's Nautical Almanac (publicat des del 1877). L'almanac nàutic conté prediccions sobre les posicions dels astres al cel durant un any natural. Aquesta posició varia contínuament per la qual cosa un almanac determinat només és vàlid per a un any específic. El navegant adquireix l'almanac per a un any concret abans que comenci aquest any i així disposa de la informació necessària per a la navegació durant tot l'any. L'almanac està organitzat en forma de taules que contenen informació sobre les dues magnituds principals que defineixen la posició d'un astre a l'esfera celest: la declinació i l'angle horari referit a Greenwich. Pot, a més de contenir informació en , Semidiàmetre observable, brillantor, etc. quan aquesta informació és útil per a la navegació. Aquesta informació va tabulada a intervals de temps que solen ser d'hora en hora i el navegant pot calcular la informació per a temps intermedis mitjançant interpolació lineal. A més d'aquesta informació que varia anualment l'almanac conté taules que ajuden en els càlculs com poden ser taules de refracció atmosfèrica, de posicions de les , d'interpolacions, etc. És probable que la publicació en paper d'almanacs nàutics tinc els dies comptats i això per dos motius principals: (1) El GPS i altres mitjans de navegació electrònics fan innecessària les tècniques de navegació astronòmica i (2) els ordinadors i calculadores digitals permeten calcular localment i sobre la marxa la posició dels astres. - Με την ονομασία Αστρονομικές εφημερίδες χαρακτηρίζονται από τους Έλληνες ναυτικούς ειδικά ναυτικά βιβλία που εκδίδονται κατ΄ έτος σε τόμους και σε μορφή ημερολογίου, από διάφορα αστεροσκοπεία, ή ναυτικά επί τούτου γραφεία που περιλαμβάνουν προβλέψεις αστρονομικών φαινομένων, θέσεις ουρανίων σωμάτων, κατά ημερομηνία και χρόνο 24ώρου, καθώς και άλλες πληροφορίες αστρονομικών παρατηρήσεων. Στον διεθνή ναυτιλιακό χώρο φέρονται και με την ονομασία Ναυτικά Αλμανάκ. Σημαντικότερες εκδόσεις τέτοιων αστρονομικών εφημερίδων (Αλμανάκ) είναι οι εκδόσεις του Ναυτικού Γραφείου Αλμανάκ της Αυτής Μεγαλειότητος του Βρετανικού Βασιλικού Ναυαρχείου, καθώς και του Γραφείου Αλμανάκ του Ναυτικού Αστεροσκοπείου των ΗΠΑ. Αυτές οι ετήσιες εκδόσεις αποτελούν και «ναυτιλιακά βοηθήματα» στον καθορισμό του γεωγραφικού στίγματος του πλοίου όταν διενεργείται αστρονομική ναυτιλία. (el)

- Un almanaque náutico es una publicación que contiene información astronómica utilizada para la navegación marítima. Se trata de una composición que consta en gran parte de la recopilación de efemérides o tablas náuticas correspondientes a un determinado plazo de tiempo (un año o varios), con interpretaciones que extrapolan las posiciones de los cuerpos celestes a la navegación. Además puede contener otras informaciones útiles, para la navegación, por ejemplo sobre mareas y puertos. En España el Real Instituto y Observatorio de la Armada de San Fernando, Cádiz, publica un almanaque náutico ininterrumpidamente desde 1792. El gobierno británico ha publicado su almanaque náutico sin interrupción desde 1767. El almanaque más utilizado y difundido es el publicado conjuntamente por los gobiernos británico y estadounidense. Los mencionados almanaques son publicaciones náuticas gubernamentales que contienen solamente las predicciones astronómicas y otras tablas necesarias para la navegación astronómica. Existen otros almanaques publicados comercialmente que contienen, además de esta información astronómica, otra información útil al navegante como predicciones sobre mareas y otra información sobre puertos, faros, ayudas a la navegación etc. Entre estos tienen gran tradición Reed's Nautical Almanac (publicado desde 1932) y Brown's Nautical Almanac (publicado desde 1877). The Almanac specifies for each whole hour of the year the position on the Earth's surface (in declination and Greenwich hour angle) at which the Sun, Moon, planets, and First Point of Aries is directly overhead. The positions of 57 selected stars are specified relative to the First Point of Aries. In Great Britain, The Nautical Almanac has been published annually by HM Nautical Almanac Office, ever since the first edition was published in 1767.In the United States, a nautical almanac has been published annually by the US Naval Observatory since 1852. It was originally titled American Ephemeris and Nautical Almanac. The "Air Almanac" of the United States and Great Britain tabulates celestial coordinates for 10-minute intervals for use in aerial navigation. The Sokkia Corporation's annual "Celestial Observation Handbook and Ephemeris" tabulated daily celestial coordinates (to a tenth of an arcsecond) for the Sun and nine stars; it was last published for 2008. To find the position of a ship or aircraft by celestial navigation, the navigator measures with a sextant the apparent height of a celestial body above the horizon, and notes the time from a marine chronometer. That height is compared with the height predicted for a trial position; the arcminutes of height difference is how many nautical miles the position line is from the trial position. (en)
