- نانسي ويكسلر (19 تموز/يوليو من عام 1945) هي عالمة وراثة أمريكية، وأستاذة علم النفس العصبي بدرجة هيجنز في أقسام الأمراض العصبية والنفسية بكلية الأطباء والجراحين بجامعة كولومبيا. عُرفت ويكسلر عن مشاركتها في اكتشاف موقع الجين الذي يسبب مرض هنتنغتون. حصلت على الدكتوراه في علم النفس السريري ولكنها اختارت العمل في مجال علم الوراثة. هي ابنة أحد مرضى هنتنغتون، وقادت فريقًا بحثيًا إلى مناطق بعيدة من فنزويلا حيث ينتشر المرض. زارت ويكسلر قرى لاجونيتا وسان لويس وبارانكويتاس. حصلت على عينات من الحمض النووي (الحمض النووي الريبي النووي) من عائلة كبيرة مصابة بمرض هنتنغتون. كانت العينات التي جمعها فريقها مفيدة في السماح لمجموعة بحثية تعاونية عالمية بتحديد موقع الجين الذي يسبب المرض. شاركت ويكسلر في العمل الناجح لإنشاء الاختبار الصبغي لتحديد ناقلات مرض هنتنغتون. - Nancy Wexler (born 19 July 1945) FRCP is an American geneticist and the Higgins Professor of Neuropsychology in the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, best known for her involvement in the discovery of the location of the gene that causes Huntington's disease. She earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology but instead chose to work in the field of genetics. The daughter of a Huntington's patient, she led a research team into a remote part of Venezuela where the disease is prevalent. She visited the villages of Laguneta, San Luis, and Barranquitas. She obtained samples of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) from a large family with a majority of the members having Huntington's disease. The samples her team collected were instrumental in allowing a global collaborative research group to locate the gene that causes the disease. Wexler participated in the successful effort to create a chromosomal test to identify carriers of Huntington's disease. (en)

W 1967 ukończyła psychologię na Radcliffe College, zaś w 1974 uzyskała doktorat na University of Michigan. W rodzinie Nancy Wexler występuje pląsawica Huntingtona; w 1968 roku objawy pojawiły się także u jej matki. Osobista sytuacja – świadomość, że i ona może być obciążona – sprawiła, że Nancy postanowiła poświęcić się odkryciu dokładnej przyczyny tej choroby. W 1979 udała się więc nad jezioro Maracaibo, aby tam prowadzić badania wśród populacji o ponadprzeciętnie wysokim odsetku chorych. Swoją pracą przyczyniła się do późniejszego zidentyfikowania genu , czego dokonano w 1993 roku. (pl)
