- Der Nairobi-Marathon (offiziell: Standard Chartered Nairobi-Marathon) ist ein Marathon in der kenianischen Hauptstadt Nairobi und wird seit 2003 jährlich in der Regel Ende Oktober ausgetragen. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung werden außerdem ein Halbmarathon und ein 10-Kilometer-Lauf sowie ein so genannter Family Fun Run von etwa 4 Kilometern Länge angeboten. Es nehmen in den letzten Jahren etwa 22.000 Läuferinnen und Läufer an den Läufen teil. Der Nairobi-Marathon zählt zu den größten Veranstaltungen seiner Art in Afrika und gehörte zu der inzwischen eingestellten Wettkampfserie The Greatest Race on Earth. Er gilt aufgrund der Höhenlage der Strecke (ca. 1.650 m ü. M.) als sehr anspruchsvolles Rennen. (de)

First held in 2003, the competition expanded and now includes a half marathon race along with the main race. It was part of "The Greatest Race on Earth", fully sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank. The other three legs of this four-marathon race were the Hong Kong Marathon, the Mumbai Marathon and the Singapore Marathon. The 2020 edition of the race was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. (en)
