- Munin je software pro , a . Je napsán v Perlu a na tvorbu vizualizací dostupných přes používá RRDTool. Je určený pro operační systémy unixového typu a uvolněný pod licencí GNU GPL, tedy se jedná o svobodný software. Munin je vysoce modulární, pro monitorování různých služeb a senzorů používá různé zásuvné moduly. V základní distribuci je jich přes 300 a dalších více než 180 je jich dostupných jinde. (cs)
- Die freie Software Munin ist ein Werkzeug zur Überwachung von Rechnern in einem Rechnernetzwerk mit Status- und Prozess-Visualisierung. Ein zentraler Rechner, der sogenannte „Master“, sammelt Leistungsdaten von im Netzwerk verteilten Computern, den „Nodes“, speichert diese und stellt die Daten mittels Webschnittstelle graphisch dar. Die Speicherung der Messwerte geschieht mit Hilfe von RRDtool. Auf diese Weise wird eine Visualisierung der Leistungsdaten erzeugt, die einen Vergleich der aktuellen Daten mit den Daten anderer Rechner und Daten aus der Vergangenheit (im Regelfall maximal für etwa 400 Tage) gestattet. Dabei nimmt die Datengenauigkeit der historischen Werte mit ihrem Alter ab, so dass die verwendete Datenbank eine konstante Größe besitzt. Wegen dieses Mechanismus liegen die Daten des letzten Tages mit einer Auflösung von 5 Minuten vor, die Daten der letzten Woche mit einer Auflösung von 30 Minuten, die Daten des letzten Monats mit einer Auflösung von 2 Stunden und die Daten des letzten Jahres mit einer Auflösung von einem Tag. - Munin est un outil de surveillance système et réseau open source sous licence publique générale GNU. Il s'appuie sur l'outil RRDTool. Il présente ses résultats sous forme de graphiques disponibles via une interface web. Il possède une structure de plugins particulièrement simple qui permet d'enrichir rapidement l'outil. Des plugins sont actuellement disponibles pour les systèmes d'exploitation suivants: GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Solaris et AIX. L'architecture du système Munin est constituée d'un serveur principal appelé Munin-master, récupérant les informations à intervalle régulier et de plusieurs nœuds appelés Munin-node. - Munin è un'applicazione per il monitoraggio di sistemi che produce in output una serie di grafici tramite interfaccia web. L'utilizzo di Munin consente di monitorare computer, network, SAN e applicazioni. Cerca di porre l'attenzione su "cosa è cambiato oggi" per verificare quali cambiamenti ci sono stati nell'infrastruttura monitorata analizzando l'andamento storico delle performance. La produzione di grafici si basa sugli ed è scritto in Perl. L'architettura si basa su un nodo master che raccoglie i dati e si incarica della gestione dell'interfaccia web con uno o più agenti (munin-node) inseriti sugli elementi da monitorare.Mentre il nodo master deve risiedere su un'architettura Unix-like, i nodi agent possono essere installati anche su piattaforme Windows. I plugin possono essere scritti in diversi linguaggi (Sh, Bash, PHP) e quelli già disponibili sono in grado di monitorare servizi come Apache, Mysql, prestazioni del sistema (CPU, disco, memoria) ecc. Per ogni aspetto monitorato è possibile inserire degli allarmi a due livelli: warning al superamento della prima soglia e critical al superamento della seconda. Per ognuno di questi allarmi è possibile gestire l'invio automatico di email in cui si riepiloga la situazione dell'allarme che è scattato. Non è consigliabile l'uso come servizio di alerting in quanto non è dotato di sufficiente tempestività ma può essere molto valido nella valutazione delle performance in un periodo di tempo definito come ad esempio le ultime 24 ore.
